Palazzo Reconstruction:
The Chigi Crest Plate

This hand-painted plate featuring the crest of the Chigi family reinterprets a historic object through a process of careful reconstruction and craft. The work began with analyzing an image of the original fragmented plate, using it as the basis for a digital mock-up that reassembled the design in its entirety. This reconstruction allowed for a deeper understanding of the composition and ornamental detail before translating it into a physical form.

Using the digital drawing as a guide, the design was hand-sketched onto a ceramic plate and then rendered with acrylic paint pens. The final piece reflects both precision and interpretation, bridging digital reconstruction with hand-applied technique to bring a historic emblem back into a cohesive and contemporary form.
