Wallcovering Translations:
Room of the Flocked Paper

This cross-stitched panel was inspired by the wallcovering pattern in the Room of the Flocked Paper, which was part of the wing completed under Augusto Chigi around 1740. It is distinguished by its rare 18th-century flocked paper wall hangings (“a cimatura”), characterized by a soft, velvety texture created by finely shredded fabric applied to the surface.
